About the Role

Data Engineer – Python

TurleyWay are working with a leading global financial firm is looking for an experienced Python developer to join their growing data engineering team.

You'll play a central role in building and maintaining high-volume data pipelines that serve users worldwide, working closely with quantitative researchers and traders.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning and evolving a large estate of data ingestion and transformation pipelines
  • Designing, implementing, and optimising frameworks and services
  • Collaborating with researchers to onboard new datasets
  • Contributing to new abstractions and improvements with real global impact

What they're looking for:

  • 3+ years of strong Python development experience
  • A degree in a STEM subject
  • Solid SQL knowledge and experience with RDBMS systems (e.g. Postgres)
  • Familiarity with data transfer protocols and tools
  • Experience working with AWS Enviroenments 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with big data frameworks, distributed systems, or cloud platforms
