Description
Manages Program Management Office and Engineering for Linac devices (Linac and MRL.) Owns the product-creation process and related project management processes to deliver value to market. Plays a key role in Portfolio planning processes to ensure product roadmap is prioritized and executable. This role also owns the Lifecycle Management Engineering (Continuous engineering) ensuring an efficient approach to maintenance for complex devices with diverse Installed Base. Ensures development of a technology roadmap, driving system engineering to ensure that a strategic approach is taken to creating stable technology platforms across the complex device landscape. Close alignment required with the Treatment Software applications, ensuring that the overall Solution delivers strategic business objectives.
Responsibilities
End-to-end product responsibility along assigned product life cycle:
- Owns Product Creation Process (PCP) and related Project Management Office (PMO) for Linac Devices
- Assures delivering in key programs in time and within budget and scope
- Ensuring the definition and execution of a research, technology and product roadmap
- Manages Pre-development and System Engineering
- Adheres to guidelines and principles defined by the Enterprise SW group (EPG)
- Drives continuous improvement in PCP and PMO processes, as well as building capability in the teams.
- Drives effective strategic supplier engagement through product and technology roadmap (make / buy decisions) with strategic buying team
- Review and sustain industry competence footprint globally
- Manage inter-relations between research, applications development, product management supply chain and quality/service
Management:
- Lead the effective utilization of resources deployed across the organizational line - accountable for delivery of projects and programs to time and budget
- Line management responsibility for direct reports, incl target setting, coaching and performance management
- Outline, update and control the org line expense budgets
- Long term competence development and related global streamlining of org footprint

Relevant Knowledge, skills and competEncies
- Relevant technical competence (Master's degree or PhD degree level)
- Substantial senior management experience from international engineering organizations, medical devices industry preferred
- Demonstrated track record as a senior manager in the medical device industry
- Proven experience with the Product Creation Process and complex (hardware + embedded software + application software) medical devices specifically.
