About the Role
Director of Engineering - Commodities/Energy - London
I am partnering with a Global Energy & Commodities business who are looking to appoint a Director of Engineering to work as part of the leadership team across EMEA.
To be considered, you must have delivered innovative Architecture solutions within the Energy & Commodities trading domain.
Key requirements:
- To be considered, you must have delivered innovative enterprise architecture solutions (cloud, data platforms, data engineering, microservices, API) within the Energy & Commodities trading domain including ETRM systems - specifically OpenLink Endur
- Strong understanding of foundational technologies, as well as specialist solutions in the energy & commodities trading space, across cloud, packaged solutions, platforms, integration/API, data technologies, DevOps
- Experience working as a Technology leader within the industry, your background maybe from Architecture/Software Engineering/Consulting (design and delivery of modern Data and Cloud Technology solutions)
- Strong stakeholder management ability, with proven experience in influencing and advising senior stakeholders up to the C Level
- You will have demonstrable experience of software engineering/architecture as an individual contributor in the past and currently as a Director/Leader.
- Experienced in leading scaled-up engineering teams of up to 30+ individuals (Developers, Architects, BA/PMs)
- Provide technical leadership on projects and be aware of ETRM intricacies (OpenLink Endur preferably)
- Product Expertise required, at least 2 of: Power, Gas, Oil, Refined Products, Metals
- Ability to shape / translate business requirements into systems design, provide leadership and set technical direction to large project teams
This role is hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home.
