**New Permanent Role - Head of Engineering** Head of Engineering Salary + Relocation Package– $170,000 – $200,000 Industry – Medical Devices Location – St. Louis in Missouri – USA
Summary:
Manages engineering for the TMA (Treatment Management Applications) product line in St. Louis/Shanghai/Toronto/Crawley. Participates at the product-creation process and related project management of business line. Also manages continuous engineering related to the business line’s installed base. Supports development of a technology roadmap, drives system engineering and manages engineering resources and capabilities for the business line. Collaborates cross-functionally in the product creation process, with installed base and service lead concerning service requirements and continuous engineering.
Responsibilities:
End-to-end product responsibility along assigned product lifecycle for the TPS & QA as part of BL Linac Solutions:
- Ensures that the engineering team delivers value to the customer, working software/system is the measure of progress
- Instils continuous attention to technical excellence and good design
- Focus on continuous improvement
- Participates in Product Creation Process and related Project Management
- Participates the technology roadmap aligned with the BL Linac Solutions strategic plan
- Supports customer research collaborations for BL Linac solutions in conjunction with group research
- Manages TMA associated engineering budget and resources
- Participates in concept exploration, predevelopment and application development TPS
- Ensures the timely execution of the product roadmap according to agreed business case
- Ensure IP strategy is followed, and IP protection generated for key elements
- Drive innovation throughout the organization, e.g. AI.
- Together with procurement assesses potential supplier innovation collaborations and technical assessment of new proposed suppliers and/or moving up the BoM activities
- Manages development pertaining to requirements from the Continuous Engineering including Tier 5 complaint resolution
- Adhere to guidelines and principles defined by the Platform SW group
- Adhere to and improve Agile implementation and PLM processes
- Manage inter-relations between research, applications development, product management & IB/Service
- Connect closely with engineering leads within BL Linac solutions globally
- Connect closely with engineering leads globally from other BL
Management
- Long term competence development and engineering excellence

- Lead the effective utilization of resources deployed across the organizational line
- Line management responsibility for direct reports, incl. target setting, coaching and performance management

Qualifications:
- Relevant academic background (Master’s degree or PhD degree level)
- Substantial senior management experience from international engineering organizations, medical devices industry preferred
- Demonstrated track record as a senior manager in the medical device industry
- Experience in the MedTech industry
- Proven experience with Agile Development and Product Lifecycle Management.
- Strong, collaborative senior leader
- Persistent and persuasive behavior to own and drive cross-functional initiatives
- High standard of interpersonal skills, based on a strong ethical standard, values and good judgement
